Get Your Cartoon Machine Here!

This spring, illustrator and Edmonton expat Mike Winters published Cartoon Machine, a “best of” offering featuring many of his greatest creations: McScoop the News Dog, Pair Bond, Daggers & Dexterity, Edmonton Stories, Lynx Jinx and, of course, Wonderdick. It’s a beautiful little comic book, and has only been available to close friends and those living in the Toronto area. That is, until now.

Wonderdick in all his glory.

Wonderdick in all his glory.

I have in my possession a box of Cartoon Machine comics, as well as Wonderdick fridge magnets. Mike brought them to me a few weeks ago, and after realizing that he isn’t going to let me keep them until after he is shanked by the real-life Time Professor and their value goes through the roof, I have decided to share them with the fine citizens of Edmonton.

Issue One of Cartoon Machine is $10. Fridge magnets are $2. I have just under 100 copies of the comic, and the magnet, left. At this point, I am the purchase point. If you would like a copy of Cartoon Machine, or a magnet, you can either leave me a comment in this blog post, or message me (@agrabia) on Twitter, and I will arrange a way to get it to you. If you are the owner of a local comic book store, or any other fine Edmonton establishment, and would be willing to carry the book on commission, please contact Mike (@Mike_Wntrz on Twitter) or me.

If you live outside the Edmonton area and want a copy, too bad. You live in a dump and your hockey team sucks.  Unfortunately, at this point, I can only sell comics to those who live in Edmonton. If you live outside Edmonton, and want a copy, get in touch with me in the ways I’ve already listed, and I’ll see what I can do. I make no guarantees.

Just like being there.

    • Hey Beau, how many copies would you like? And would you like magnets? And where would you like to meet? I work on the U of A campus, and can meet you at lunch or after work. Or if something else works better, please let me know. Thanks!

  3. I would like to buy 2 copies plus a fridge magnet….

    • Hey Lisa,
Awesome. On behalf of Mike, thanks! I work on the U of A campus, and can meet you at lunch or after work. Or if something else works better, please let me know.

  4. 1. I would like one copy, and can meet you anywhere in the city tomorrow evening (say, after six) or most other evenings.
    2. The time professor would never deign to shank anybody himself; he’s far too important. Mike will be shanked by an iteration of the kid.

  5. Hi Andy,

1 comic and 1 magnet please.

I run around the city most days, so I’m pretty flexible on where/when to meet.

DM me on twitter when you are awake during daylight hours

    Regards,
    Darcy

Well there’s a reason to drive three hours north to Edmonton. If I can’t find the time before these are gone, any chance of issues of Comic Machine (and fridge magnets!) being available in Calgary anytime soon?

  12. Count me in!

    • Hey, I work on the U of A campus, and can meet you in SUB at lunch tomorrow if you want. If not, I’m on vacation until next Thursday. I can meet you after that. Let me know.

Change of plans – my building has been evacuated an I left my car keys inside. Sorry about that.

    Hi Andy,
Put me down for one copy. I can take the LRT over to campus during my lunch break, so let me know when you’re back and meeting people. Thanks.

  15. We in Toronto also enjoy Cartoon Machine!

  16. Hey Andy, do you have any of these left? If so I would like 1 copy of the comic. I can LRT to campus at lunchtime pretty easily, assuming I don’t have a lunch meeting that day. Let me know. Thanks.
